Healthy vision and achieving the best optical outcomes requires a full understanding of every client’s lifestyle and occupation.  This is why our optometrists take care of you throughout the examination from start to finish. We don’t leave preliminary testing to lay staff.

Our in-depth standard testing will take an hour for a first consultation and 45-60 minutes thereafter. 

We are equipped with the latest technology including a retinal camera and an OCT (optical coherence tomographer)  which allows our optometrists to look deeper and take cross-section pictures of your retina. 

OUR OPTOMETRY TEAM.

At the helm of a team of three optometrists is Michael Holmes, a British-trained optometrist who has worked in the field for more than 25 years. Michael is a member of the British College of Optometrists and the New Zealand Opticians and Dispensing Opticians Board. He is Civil Aviation Authority-accredited and holds a Certificate in Ocular Pharmacology from the University of Auckland. His vast experience and focus on the individual ensures a comprehensive tailored service and long standing client relationships.

EYE HEALTH. Working collaboratively with ophthalmologists, we specialise in the monitoring of eye health and early detection of eye disease. It’s important to have your eyes checked regularly, in most cases every two years even if your vision hasn’t changed. Many eye diseases have better outcomes if detected at an early stage. Our areas of expertise include glaucoma, macular degeneration, kerataconus, cataracts, dry eye and myopia control.

CIVIL AVIATION AUTHORITY EXAMINATIONS. Michael Holmes is accredited by the Civil Aviation Authority to undertake visual examinations for pilots. 

LENS CHOICE. Operating independently, we’re not tied to any parent or global lens company.  We can specify and source the lenses most suitable for your lifestyle from a vast range of international suppliers, ensuring the best lenses are chosen every time.

CONTACT LENSES. We offer a full contact lens fitting service and will ensure the most advanced and comfortable contact lenses are prescribed.

EYESIGHT CERTIFICATES. We are certified by the New Zealand Transport Agency to provide testing and vision certification for those who have failed the eyesight test required for a New Zealand driver's licence.
