INTRODUCING A RANGE OF HIGH QUALITY READY READERS.

Vital reading glasses, designed by MHPE owners Kay McFarlane and Michael Holmes.
Not everyone needs a complex prescription.  When help is needed just for close-up vision, a simple pair of reading glasses will do the trick. We generally referred these clients to the chemist for “off the shelf” reading glasses but many ended up returning and purchasing high quality frames because the available options for ready readers were either gaudy designs or poor construction or both.

A cost effective and stylish range of reading glasses was nowhere to be found, so we decided to create our own designs and Vital Reading Glasses was born!

WHAT ARE “OFF THE SHELF” READING GLASSES AND WHO SHOULD WEAR THEM?
Ready to wear reading glasses also known as hobby glasses, chemist glasses or ready readers are glasses made with magnifying lenses that have the same power in each eye, designed to aid close-up vision.

Typically starting after the age of 40, a condition known as presbyopia causes changes to the eye’s lens, making it more difficult for the eye to focus at close-up distances. Reading glasses are a perfect solution for those with presbyopia.

GET YOUR EYES TESTED REGULARLY
To make sure your vision changes are the result of presbyopia and your eyes are otherwise healthy, have your eyes checked regularly by one of our optometrists. They’ll advise if  “ready to wear” reading glasses are a good option for you.
