Introducing Vital Glasses
INTRODUCING VITAL
A Vibrant Range of Ready to Wear Reading Glasses and Sunglasses Designed by Kay and Michael.
It’s taken almost 3 years to design, manufacture and bring to market, but we’re proud to introduce our very own range of ready readers, also known as “off the shelf reading glasses”.
THE WHY?
Not all our customers require complex prescriptions with some needing help just for close up distances and reading. We have generally referred these customers to the chemist for “off the shelf readers” but many ended up returning and purchasing high quality frames from us because the available options for ready readers were either gaudy designs or poor construction or both.
A cost effective and stylish option for these presbyopic patients was needed and we searched the globe but nothing satisfied our criteria in terms of style, quality or price.
So, we decided to design the range of ready readers we wanted and make it ourselves!
THE COLLECTION
Vital readers is a collection of 14 designs, each in 4 colourways. Every detail was painstakingly considered for aesthetics, durability and comfort and we're proud of the end result. The range is “chunkier” for a contemporary feel but the styles are firmly grounded in the classics, so they won’t date. Designs vary from bold to refined and each reader has a high quality stainless steel spring hinge, allowing the frames to fit a variety of head sizes.
EARTH FRIENDLY
The frame material is recycled plastic (specifically water bottles and take away containers), a slightly unusual choice but our research paid off and Vital frames are strong, pristinely finished and very comfortable to wear.
HOW TO USE READY READERS
For our customers who do need simple reading glasses, please don’t hesitate to ask us your correct reading prescription. You can order online through the website www.vitalglasses.co.nz or if local, you’re welcome to view the entire collection at Teed St in Newmarket.
Ready readers are not suitable for everyone but are sometimes useful as a temporary backup, if other glasses have been misplaced. They're often an excellent option for reading in bed or useful for viewing the screen on an aircraft, if you don’t want to risk falling asleep in your fancy progressive lens glasses. Readers are also a very cost effective temporary reading solution during the recovery period, after cataract surgery.
Give us a call and we can discuss your needs.
